You will be an IT Leader that is comfortable building relationships across a global IT function.  You will also enjoy managing a small team and your personable team management skills will be motivating and supportive.  The role is predominately focused upon policy, procedural and team management but with the added requirement to work on projects that could range from SAP/Applications such as Skype or server & Cloud.

  • IT qualification (university or college) or equivalent management experience of no less than 3 years
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • SQL skills are only desirable
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good written and numerical skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload, maintain confidentiality, and produce/process documents accurately.
  • A flexible approach to work, along with the ability to work as part of a team.

Person abilities:

  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders - globally
  • Used to sizeable organisational structures and policies
  • Management of a small team with some hands on duties when people are off on holidays/sick


  • Server replacement
  • Telephone ISDN line to new systems
  • Migrate some systems from Hereford to Sheffield
  • Cloud and server farm tech migration/upgrade
  • Global projects - Skype / TEAMS




Key Responsibilities: (from a management perspective)

  • Management of 2 people (one in Sheffield the other in Hereford) providing end user support for the UK sites with help of the ticket system (1st level & (2nd level), 2nd & 3rd level is provided by the global IT)
  • Helping the team to assigning software to UK clients (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager [SCCM])
  • Managing the team in terms of correct processes to follow when providing support for end users with technical media solutions in conference rooms and meeting areas (hands on)
  • Managing the monitoring solutions and solving backup problems (management)
  • Management of policies and procedures re hardware support
  • Senior Administration/management and maintenance of the local IT infrastructure g. UPS, AC’s
  • Provide management guidance on preparing laptops for new employees, replace old or faulty hardware, upgrade memory etc
  • Managing the policies re servers and lifecycle of old hardware, create and monitor installation requests, replace faulty fan /disk etc
  • Manage the team to provide network support and assign IP addresses, connect local hardware to network, basic fault finding
  • Manage printers - basic fault finding, replace old or faulty hardware
  • Manage Phones / mobiles / hand scanners / and other IT hardware - in line with global policies
  • Administration
    • IT asset management
    • Assigning UK clients and UK hardware to the Active Directory
    • Assigning UK clients to DHCP
    • Creating procurement requests for IT hardware and contracts
