Description

We’re now looking for a SQL Development Team Leader to provide leadership to a team of developers (9), specialising in the Microsoft technology stack. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with other Team Leaders and the Head of Development, ensuring solutions are technically fit for purpose and aligned with development and architectural principles.



You’ll be responsible for:



   •     Providing people and technical leadership to development team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, 1-2-1s, absence management, resourcing, risk management, technical ownership and delivery and managing individual’ performance objectives.



   •     Contributing towards the long term architectural strategy for delivery technically fit-for-purpose solutions as per business requirements.



   •     Suggesting and introducing new technologies, practises, platforms and approaches.



   •     Owning the technical delivery of a number of key projects.



   •     Maintaining a high level of standard and quality across the team.



   •     Managing small changes/support alongside project delivery.



   •     Mentoring less experienced team members



You’ll need to evidence the following qualifications, skills and experience:



Essential



o Advanced knowledge of developing and supporting SQL Server based solutions (SQL 2008- 2012).



o Advanced knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).



o Relational database design – experience of developing logical and physical schema designs.



o People management



o Good interpersonal skills.



o Problem solving skills within the database solution.



o Experience of performance tuning.



o Experience with working with large data sets.



o Motivated by delivering results



o Test Driven Development



Desirable



o Problem solving skills within the database solution.



o Experience of performance tuning.



o Experience with working with large data sets.



o Familiarisation with delivery methodologies – (Waterfall/Agile)



o Continuous Integration and automated delivery



o Microsoft Certification



o Degree or equivalent level
