Job Title: OpenEdge DBA



Location: Leeds



Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum dependent on experience + 3% flexible benefits + on target bonus of 5% + contributory pension



We’re now looking for an OpenEdge DBA to join our growing team. As an OpenEdge DBA you will be responsible for the day to day support and management of Dev/Test/Production OpenEdge environments. You will also manage and monitor database backups and data growth, refreshing QA and Dev environments.



You’ll be responsible for:



   •      Day to day management of the OpenEdge databases



   •      Installing, maintaining and administering mission-critical, leading-edge OpenEdge databases



   •      Database design & architecture



   •      Performing database performance tuning



   •      Installation and configurations of OpenEdge Server Instances



   •      Migration and upgrades of OpenEdge Server Instances



   •      Providing recommendations to management for DB configuration, software purchases and migration paths



   •      Management of OpenEdge databases at a macro and micro level (Table, Index, Data-file, Fragmentation etc)



   •      Process documentation



   •      Provide out of hours and on-call support



You’ll need to evidence the following qualifications, skills and experience:



Essential:



   •     Experience of installation, maintenance, and administration of mission critical OpenEdge databases



•     Experience with all aspects of OE v10 & v11 database administration



* implementation / configuration



* maintenance



* monitoring



* tuning



* backups



* dump/loads



* recovery/restore



* troubleshooting



   •     Experience with multi volume databases; after imaging, type II storage areas



   •     Experience with OE Replication



   •     Experience of OpenEdge on Windows Server OS



Desirable:



   •      Familiar with OpenEdge Management



   •      Development skills in OpenEdge



   •      PowerShell scripting



   •      Team Foundation Server (TFS)

   •     Strong verbal and written communication skills



   •     Skilled in multitasking and designing applications



   •     Skilled in OE installation and configuration



   •     Strong prioritisation and time management skills



   •     Ability to prepare good quality written documentation.



   •     Highly motivated, career orientated and able to approach challenging situations in a calm, logical and methodical manner
